L'Equipe de Recherche en HIstoire des Sciences de l'Education (ERHISE), dirigée par Rita Hofstetter avec la collaboration de Bernard Schneuwly, étudie l'évolution depuis le 19e siècle à nos jours des sciences de l'éducation. Nous nous intéressons plus particulièrement à la manière dont ce champ disciplinaire interagit avec le monde social, culturel, scientifique, politique qui l'entoure.
Aussi portons-nous notre regard sur la façon dont le champ disciplinaire s'articule hier comme aujourd'hui sur:

• l'évolution des systèmes éducatifs modernes, l'émergence de l'Etat enseignant et les mouvements relevant de l'Education nouvelle;
• les professions de référence, l'évolution de leur formation et savoirs de référence, le processus de professionnalisation des métiers éducatifs et ses rhétoriques;
• les autres disciplines scientifiques (notamment les sciences sociales) qui traitent elles aussi des phénomènes éducatifs.

Nos investigations à ce propos portent sur plusieurs contextes (Genève, la Suisse, des sites significatifs en Europe et dans le monde), couplant approches monographiques et analyses comparatives, permettant de mettre en lumière les configurations contrastées du champ disciplinaire en fonction des traditions académiques et aires culturelles.

The research group on Educational Sciences History analyzes the process of disciplinarization of educational sciences in connection with the evolution of teacher training from the end of the 19th century until nowadays. The group analyses in particular:

• The institutional and academic integration of educational sciences
• The history of the main actors of the educational sciences, their communication networks and scientific production
• The form of interaction between the disciplinary field and the professional field of reference ; interaction between the disciplinary field and other disciplines interested in education
• The connections with Progressive education or New education
• The history of educational professions and history of the professionalization of teachers through the universitarisation of their training
• The production of knowledge in the educational field.

The group is particularly interested in the history of educational sciences in Geneva (above all the one of the J.J. Rousseau Institute) and in other Swiss universities. The group studies also parallels (similarities) with the international development of the disciplinary field.
